 The Bald Eagle is somewhat of a regular in Free Studies and yes, have entered a shot of this guy before, however entered this shot for a couple of reasons and hope you, the voter see that this is different to the norm and that you took the time during voting to appreciate how lucky I was to capture the nictitating membrane half way across his eye!

The only issue I can see stopping this from being my second 7 is the blown out feathers.

Editing was mainly in the conversion from RAW before using my new found secret weapon!

Take your image, any image, duplicate it then use Gaussian Blur until you can just make out the outline. Next select 'overlay' in the opacity dropdown and change the opacity until you get the desired result.

Biggest problem was the number of Raptor shots this freestudy.. Nice shot.

IMHO this should have finished a lot higher, sorry you took a 'hit' with this in the FSM.

Great details, and very regal looking. However, the position of his wings is a bit off-putting. Is he looking forward or backwards? Good details.
