 this is the final frame of a sequence.. some of the previous frames are more grizzly

i have a rain runoff pond near my place of work - my window looks out on it

a week previously i shot the blue heron(presume it is the same one) catching a fish & saw it again so ran outside & waited for it ..
this time instead of reaching into the water he grabbed into the grass & plucked out this rodent....

we are unsure but are guessing it may be a rat .. though it could be any number of other small rodents that live near this pond ..

this was shot using manual focus on a monopode with a 2x doubler on a 300f4 at about 30meters *(roughly 600mm @f/8)

this will get poor votes because of the yucky nature & haze from the doubler

Ok, I can see where you were going with this only because of the title. I see no crime in what is taking place here though. Image quality is hurting this shot as well due to the lack of clarity/focus.

that mouse is having a bad day. I think I'd work the processing more--more contrast, saturation, sharpening.

Focus seems a little soft. Good take on the challenge.

Seems a little OOF and flat - more focus on the eyes and DOF would have helped
