CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE
by karmat
Welcome to dpc!
Compositionally, this is one of those rare shots where the largely centered composition works well. The stairs lead the eyes down to the body, and the "perp escaping" is a nice touch. I think the only nitpick I could offer is to include some of the staircase/railing closest to you, at the bottom of the frame. That would cause it to completely encircle the victim, and make it feel a bit more complete, I think.
Technically, the grittiness and high contrast really work well together to set the mood in this shot. I like that it is not black and white because that makes the victim that much more obvious.
Overall, good work and I look forward to seeing more of your entries.

The centered position of the victim, the repeating line of the stairs being broken by the gunman, it all draws us in to the story that has just unfolded |

Ohhh - I didn't even notice the character going up the stairs at first. Nice exposure and composition here. |

this capture in this challenge reminds me of "American Pyscho". You've got a pretty nefarious criminal here--suffocates AND shoots his victim. |

Nice touch with the blurred guy holding the gun. |

One of the better ones this challenge I think. |

Now there's a crime, bagged, shot and maybe dropped. Like the action, comp. and detail... 9 |

Excellent. Someone is running at the top of the stairs and blurred with a gun and a body below. Great creation of photo depth from the staircase levels. |

One of the better images in the challenge IMO. The motion blur is a great touch. |

this seems to be a crime...but not a 'crime scene'. I really like the effect of the man walking up the stairs with the gun...i just don't understand what the weapon would be used for if she was strangled with a bag. |

"A crime scene is a location where an illegal act took place, and comprises the area from which most of the physical evidence is retrieved by ..."
This is showing a crime in action, not a crime scene |

the picture is good,it seems few credible the plastic bag over the head if the murderess has a gun |

Interesting, but if there is a bag over the head of the victim who is the guy with the guy? It almost works but just does not sell it enough for me. |

Love the title. Perfect set up, the guy on the stairs is a great touch even though this would still work without him. |

Great perspective and I like the motion of the shooter walking up. I guess my only question is regarding the bag over the head? To me it would seem like the perp suffocated the victim rather than shooting them. No vote, I'm in this one. |
