I was pleasantly surprised that I could see my reflection on the ant's abdomens. Should've gone with a higher ISO to eliminate the chance of any lens shake considering my focal length, but it looks like steady hands prevailed.

It looks like a small war going on. I saw some of this type ants in NM a couple of years ago, and they were in a spooky old graveyard above Madrid, an old mining town. The anthill was huge.

This is AWESOME! I wish I had ants that size to photograph. Mine are all REALLY REALLY tiny. I like the zoom feel quite a lot.
