Taken using no close up filters this time, C&C appreciated. The outcome looks terrible after the downsize to me...really pixelated. How does everybody else get around this? Also, the crop isn't huge or anything either. Help? I use GIMP and Capture NX. I've provided the uncropped version, saved with largest side 640px and to 160K, with the same terrible pixelation.

I agree with the other comments about the pixelation (lack of). I don't notice any obvious sharpening artifacts, either. Good colors, and your crop is good. Ideally face wouldn't be blocked, of course.

I'm not seeing the pixelation here either. I really get the sense of movement here, but would like to see a bit more of the head.

No pixel problems here either. Your snake is a cutie! I like your unusual angle.

Nope, not seeing any pixelation either. I don't know how fast he was moving, but if at possible avoid those branches being over its face. Body would be okay but not the head.

It doesn't look pixelated to me at all. Good colours

I'm not seeing the pixelation either. I don't find it over sharpened at all. Looks fine to me.

This doesn't look pixelated as much as over sharpened.
