The knife is sitting on a table, underneath the table is a flash with a red gel on it pointing towards the background. The background is gray paper about 4 feet behind the table (a white wall would work too). It's a very simple setup and gives great results. |

Great shot...the red color is very powerful in this image. If you stare at the knife long enough u can almost see a side view of a face, like a distorted man in the moon. Ok back to the mushrooms... ;-)

| Impessive silouette and great lighting. I think you picked the perfect style of knife for this shot. Horizon is just a tiny bit off. (Damn DPC, only two months ago I would have never even noticed when the horizon was off by a huge amount!) |

WOW..... this is totally awesome, and so graphic and so good.
A great simple but dramatic composition.
Great strong bold color, like blood, and I also love the "hot" silhouette effect, as it works extremely well here.....
Also love the square crop.
