the overall sharpness of your image makes it stand out. |

The hat fades into the background, lightening it up a bit would be better. |

Nice job, just missing a hint of a smile. The frown sort of diminishes the impact of the shot. 7 |

I like the pose, crop, colors, everything but the background. You have to kinda squint to tell he's wearing a hat. |

i wonder why he looks so sad. it would be better imo if you had lit the bg so that the hat stood out better. |

Imposing image. I like the light. I wonder how it would feel from a lower, closer, perspective. (Any comments about the t-shirt yet?). |

he looks angry ... but technically I like it, except for the hat getting a bit lost in the background. |

Fearsome beard and fearsome expression. Well lit, too. |

The expression pretty much kills most of the positives about this as a portrait. That is one of the grumpiest, meanest looks I've ever seen. I guess if you titled it "Disgruntled Cowboy" it might work better as maybe a photojournalistic portrait. The technicals are all excellent - lighting, focus, comp. But the expression just sets the tone for the overall portrait. |

cool character. need to backlight or side light the hat to provide better separation from your background. |
