 This is a colleague of mine. The photo doesn't do her justice, so I thought I would enter the challenge and hope for some pointers. I hope you can see some of her sparkling personality show through on this effort.
Shot was cropped to 8x10 aspect ratio, curves adjusted, desaturated and shrunk to challenge size... I hope.

I thank all of you for your votes and comments. You are all right about the white strip... it was an 11th hour failure on my part and has taught me to be more careful.

I am also thanking my model and as she has agreed to work with me again, you may perhaps see her again.

Is the white line on the left hand side an overlook? Nice portrait, like the B&W.

There is a white bar on the side of the image (Im guessing Im not the first person to mention this) makes it look like it was a scanned photo or something went wrong in cropping no matter what it is hurting the image.

As far as the rest, the poseseems to give the subject a 3x chin and is not flattring

I think your white edge doesn't really add much to the photo, I'd have cropped it out.

pretty subject, but not so flattering a pose. the white strip on the left side really throws me off on this. was that an accident? good picture nonetheless
