Only now that I drink four Bacardi-cokes and after 00.00 I see that you scored a ribbon with this. After last years workshop/GTG that is kind of logical. :))))

hey guys, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! You don't know what this means to me, I'm so happy that one of my photos got a ribbon, and especially this one. I love to take photos of Gernot, we have so many different and still have many ideas! The funny thing is, it's his birthday today! :-) Good birthday present, I think. :-)

This was one of my favorites during the challenge. I love the circular catch lights in the eyes. Good control of the DOF. Congrats on your first ribbon.
edit to add: hmm..apparently this is comment number 1400 for me. Well thank you for being part of a milestone!

| Good composition - but for my taste the lighting is all a bit flat (and bright) on the face. The choice of blues for the shirt and background is a very strong one, however. Technically it's a good portrait but for me it fails to establish any emotional connection with the viewer. |

Great shot. You gotta love the ringlight.
Edit: So after voting on the whole challenge, I'm back to bump some of my favotites. Since I've bumped some photos to a 9 and this is clearly my blue ribbon choice for this challenge, you get a 10 + a favorite. |

| Good eye connection with the viewer. Not sure if I like the slanted perspective, makes it look like he's trapped in a room with a low ceiling and can't stand up straight. =) |
