Pre challenge:
I am predicting a personal best. This is by far one of the best shots I have ever done and I really do believe it is the best I have ever entered in a challenge. Normally I am not nervous going into voting on a challenge but I am excited/nervous/anxious about this one. I've probably put too much emotional investment into this image but at this point I can't help it. I just hope it does well...

Giving a very rare appearance as critique club member here. Going from the comments there wasn't too much helpful there for you, mainly comments about how cute the Gosling is or how cool the water drops are. Unfortunately, you were wrong in your prediction of a personal best score, but you were right in it being one of your best shots. You hit the exposure right on the button here and even with an f9 aperture you still managed to get a decent blur on the back of the Gosling and the water in the background. I bet you were chuffed when you saw the result on the screen, probably even before when you saw it on the camera display. The Gosling's reflections are cool, I think it kicks this image even more than the water drops do. I find what harmed your score in general is the crop. I find it a little too tight and would maybe have given the Gosling a little more freedom as here I get the feeling it is somewhat trapped in the framing you chose. Including the full reflection in the image could have been advantageous also.

Wonderful soft focus here. You have managed to get a pleasing picture out of contrasty light. The drops on the gosling adds interest.

love the water droplets...crisp focus, perhaps a little too central for me
