Redwing Blackbird; I'd bet money on it. They do interesting balancing acts on reeds and twigs and cattails. Nice sharp silhouette. Some of the background looks over-burnt (either in processing or it really was burnt); maybe if it were more blurred (like Gaussian, not the blur tool) it would let the bird get more attention.

7 - Good isolation of the silhouette against the strong lighting in the background - difficult lighting situation.

A beautiful silhouette, love the golden colours. I would crop a bit more off the right so the bird isn't so centered.

I really like the lighting effect of this shot. something that may have helped is cropping it so that the bird takes up more of the frame, and so that the bird is placed in the frame more according to the rule of thirds (instead of slightly above center).

wow, I really like this...I would have gone for a square crop and taken out the right hand 20% of the image...but that's me...focus is superb 8
