This is a photo of my 2 year old son Alexander wearing his sunglasses(lenses removed, obviously) while sitting on a black collapsible lawn chair. The picture was taken in late afternoon in some very intense sunlight. Thanks to the backlighting, the only part of the chair that you can actually see is the portion of armrest that covers Alex's forearm. I simply cropped, desaturated, and slightly sharpened the image. I'm fairly new to the wonderful world of photography, and would appreciate any and all critiques(of the picture, not my son).

Very cute! even the yes are smiling. The posture is absolutely natural with the legs tangled up just what u wd expect with a 2 yr old kid.
I'm no photographer but I wd rate this in my top 3 or 4.

Congrats on your top ten score! Well deserving of it.

It's SUCH a fun image. It just insists that the viewer smile back at that adorable grin.
Well done.

I didn't get a chance to vote this challenge, but did a quick perusal and this one grabbed me immediately - a DELIGHTFUL shot - very well executed. Fun and joyful, and did I mention delightful? I've nothing to offer as far as improvement - this one is just fine the way it is.

Great. Nicely lit and converted (just be really careful with the highlights!) and a great expression captured.

You nailed the title. :D And I can't say anything bad about the portrait - just grand!

Great contrast, rich blacks really make the subject pop. Whatever he is doing with his hands draws my eye out of the frame, though. Wish they were in the frame.
