I gave it a 7. I was wondering if you used a flash? I kind of wish that either the gate was not there or if it was in silhouette. I love seeing that slick pathway leading to the courtyard area. The color tone is perfect. |

Lovely shot. I was there once upon a time. Lived in New Orleans for a summer. What I remember? It stinks. Literally. Of urine and alcohol. I'm sure in spring the scent of southern flowers may provide a bit of a mask to that smell, and perhaps the hurricane washed it out a bit... But it is a town of amazing sights, interesting people, and totally awesome food. So good memories this brings as well! |

Very nice shot. The color tone gives the whole image the old "tin" feel. |

Just fascinating. Makes me really want to see full size. Good tones, textures and great interest. |

Great contrast with strong lines. The composition is very strong too. Nice. |

Interesting and rustic. Like some Maurice Chevalier film opener. Good luck! |

Beautiful scene, well framed, excellent composition. Love that it's B&W with such great detail and good example of dappled lighting... 10 |

Beautiful! Textures, lighting, leading lines, DOF, tones, mood -- it's all here. Doesn't really show the dappled light effect to maximum potential, but no loss of points here! |

I like how the lines of the stones floor lead help to lead you toward the light |

Very nice use of the bars to frame your shot. It really adds to the sense of depth in this image. |

So... I like the composition and the story behind, which every viewer has to discover on its own. Is the light dappled? I'm not sure. Looks even, just reflected from the floor. I'm not judging it however on dappled light existance, as it is quite fresh attempt on the challenge theme comparing to majority entries. |

The bars are artistic but I find them distracting. |

This is not dappled light in my opinion - dappled light is light shining through several small apertures, functioning as pinhole cameras, creating circular images on the ground. Sorry, did not vote on this one. |
