I like the composition here but you've gotten carried away with the saturation. The border also takes away from the feeling of depth as it "stops" the eye rather than allowing it to carry out of the frame.

Not sure how this is a nightmare, but it does feel dreamlike :o) I think it ends good, tho! (almost a "light at the end of the tunnel" feel) Great job
