there is a lot going on in this picture. maybe if that plant on the left and the one long stem wasnt there on the right this could be better

With the strong sunlight of mid-day, the contrast on your shot is really intense which makes the hen more difficult to see. Post processing to reduce the contrast would definitely have helped.

The lines nad colors of the plants in this photograph act as a border to emphasis the camoflauged bird.

The stem in the foreground on the right side is ditracting. It is a valiant effort. This was a difficult challenge for me. Perhaps shooting it from a lower perspective would have helped. The image just seems flat.
