 Being from here, I did not consider viewers from other places might have a hard time picking out the subject here. Thank you socalsteve for pointing that out. The dead trees that are one this point of land are what is left after the huge earthquake in 1964. The sea waters came up over them and the salt killed them, yet preserved them at the same time.

Wow, how cool is that? Thanks for the added info. I'm interested, like Steve, to know if the area is restricted? If not, could you get in or a little closer to them? Would love a really good look.

cool shot - water, land, snow, clouds in one. mountain top looks soft. good comp but am looking for a "subject" of the photo.

has anyone made the trees into totems or is it "restricted land" of some sort?
