 I absolutely love this photo. I asked Kita to sit with her back to me and put her fingers on her shoulder. The hand in the image had stamps from school on it, so I had to be careful not to show them as they would distract from the image. And her other arm is in bright purple plaster...so I couldn't use that. I asked her to look over her shoulder at me and as she was doing so, she was chatting to me and I took this photo.

I am aware from other peoples opinion (off DPC) and also from comments made on previous challenges with her...that some may mistake it as beyond her years. But let me say...this image was taken outdoors and she was clothed...if you look carefully, you can see a white strap over her shoulder.

To me, this image says my daughter is beautiful in both her innocent years and yet at the same time she is blossoming into a beautiful person.

I will not be here when this image finishes voting...so I hope that not to many people see the negativity of this image. This image is meant to represent beauty of the soul....nothing more.

I have printed this image out with less blur....and I just love it.

I also love this image for the alluring delicate soft emotive feeling it give me.... Just breathtaking in every way, and one image that you should be very proud of.....

Gorgeous photo and model as usual Judi :)

I dont think you need to justify it at all Judi, you are very good at what you do and from what Ive seen, your daughter isn't far behind her mother in the talent department.

Anyway I agree it prob should have gone higher but you have to let the commoners win once in a while also ;)

I love it so much and think you captured exactly what you were trying to convey! Innocent youthful beauty with hints of what is to come as she grows into a lady! Congratulations on a photo that will be treasured long after the Top 10 honors are forgotten :)

I can't think of any reason why anyone would think negatively of her pose. To me it doesn't even suggest anything of that nature and is a very simple yet beautiful representation of your daughter. The nay-sayers are freaks - ignore 'em :)

Not sure why you think anyone would think negatively of this? Looks like it was fine with your commenters AND the voters. It's a beautiful piece of art and a wonderful keepsake! Congrats on the top 10.

composition, lighting, and processing are excellent. personally, i like the pose and expressions of the beautiful model the most. 10

Was this done by Judi? If not, that is a compliment. One of the best in the challenge. I would really appreciate you comments discussing how you achieved this. Very soft and subtle, yet the wispy hair retains sharpness. I hope to be able to take a portrait like this some day.
