I desperately wanted to enter an image in this week because my previous week entry "craftsmans Hands (sepia)" got a red ribbon & "waiting on sunset (sun in frame)" was also doing well.
Actually I didn't want to shoot flowers this time so first I tried some shots for Bicycle contest but I was not happy with the images. Then I concentrated on soft focus. I tried some shots on love letter,finalized & uploaded. After one day I was again not happy with my entry so I reconsidered other images taken on the same day & finally uploaded this. I worked a lot on post processing with precaution of not crossing the basic editing rules. I really missed advanced editing in this entry. Actually I wanted the hands in black & white & tried a lot to do so but the result was not coming upto the expectations.
The shooting was quiet simple my wife's hand holding the flower over white cloth with diffused sunlight from right top side. Editing involves rotating, cropping, selective color,Levels, Hue/sat, Curves, selective color, resize, USM, Gaussian blur, faded blur, selective color ,USM framed & saved for web.
Hope it's looking nice & does well.. |

this should be Disqualified for sure |
Without violating basic editing rules Gaussian blur can be applied & faded through edit menu. For fading by this method you don't have to be a image data in adjustment layer.Hope this helps to you.For your kind information I have ribboned in previous soft focus challenge Soft Focus III by using same method.The top 5 entries are validated on this site, which reconfirms the editing procedure. |

| 8 - Nicely done. I like the 'aged' hands, which contrast well with the flower and the overall softness creates a good effect. The bracelets/bangles are a nice touch too. |
