Great capture. I am always a big fan of black and white captures.

Love this shot. I feel the black and white adds to the clarity of the subject. 9

Nice shot...... but I'm just not sure why you chose to go b&w.... I'd like to see the colour version.... I'm not sure that being b&w adds anything to the shot..... good luck, Todd. 7.

Bird and nature shots full of color don't usually come over well in B & W. But for some reason I like this one in B&W. I wouldn't mind seeing the color version after the challenge is over.

Nice dof, excellent shot of the bird, and like the B&W. Too bad about the bird showing us his behind... Normally I don't rate bird photos very high, but this gets a 7. If the bird had been more in profile, then you'd get an 8 or 9...

I like the tones and DOF but the composition leaves something to be desired. Your subject is too centered. Also the image could use some brighening..

At first I wasn't sure about the black and white but after looking at if for a little while, I like it :) Perfect focus and great use of DOF. Nicely done.

Incredible! Great capture, great lighting, great focus (you can actually count his feathers!).

I don't think B&W was the best choice for this shot

nice use of dof - I'd like to have seen the "north" end of the bird

I love little fellows like this and just love the little seed in it's mouth. I really like this in black and white too - the DOF is amazing and really makes the image pop! I just want to tickle this little guy's underbelly,it looks so soft. I'm giving it a 10.

I wish he'd turn around. :) We have many black-capped-chickadees here in Oregon. I love their calls to each other. They are really quick as you know and you did a wonderful job getting this guy. Good one.

Nothing like being there at the right time with the right equipment. Good action to get the catchlight. Since the little guy is looking left, I'd probably have cropped more of the right away. but still well worth an 8.
