 This was one of the moments captured when we took dinner to the homeless people who live under the bridge. Some of them were more hungry for someone to talk to them and treat them with respect than they were food. A moment earlier, this man was hanging on every word our friend, Nora was saying. Then, he asked her if she would pray for him.

What touches me tho about this scene is the guy in the background. He was not part of their conversation at all, but when the other man asked Nora to pray for him, the man in the background quietly and unsolicited, bowed his head and prayed as well.

I have such a heart for those people. Sometimes when I'm falling asleep in my comfy bed, I think of each one of them I met that night, and wonder what their sleeping conditions are :(

We are so blessed -- and prob'ly take so much for granted!

Having grown up in a deeply religious atmosphere, and having made the decision much earlier in my life that that doesn't work for me (I now have a different concept) my first reaction to this photo is leave that poor man alone. However!!!!! I do involve myself in charity work, and I know from experience that people do want others to pray for them and they take great comfort knowing that others care enough to reach out. With that disclaimer, Sandy, I can honestly say that this is one of the most moving photos I've seen recently and I'm glad you shared it.

This is one of those special captured "moments in time", one can treasure always, and leave a mark on someones heart.....

we are all blessed in one way or another, we just have to see it .. even the most terrible lives can be turned around .. and even tho they say that all men are islands, and there is a lot of truth in that, we are also very connected with each other .. the differences we can make in the lives of others can be astounding .. a wonderful story sandy and a wonderful photograph .. :)

we can find God's grace in the most alluring places..the hearts & sensitivities of others for example

I know we are overly blessed and this is a reminder to us all to stop whining and GIVE THANKS for how lucky we are!!
