I've got the children to tend
The clothes to mend
The floor to mop
The food to shop
Then the chicken to fry
The baby to dry
I got company to feed
The garden to weed
I've got shirts to press
The tots to dress
The can to be cut
I gotta clean up this hut
Then see about the sick
And the cotton to pick.

Shine on me, sunshine
Rain on me, rain
Fall softly, dewdrops
And cool my brow again.

Storm, blow me from here
With your fiercest wind
Let me float across the sky
'Til I can rest again.

Fall gently, snowflakes
Cover me with white
Cold icy kisses and
Let me rest tonight.

Sun, rain, curving sky
Mountain, oceans, leaf and stone
Star shine, moon glow
You're all that I can call my own.

Maya Angelou

How dare you say W.W. with an IRON??? I hate ironing, must admit to seeing it as your left sided image....LOL!

Absolutely cool and very powerful image. LOVE the processing.

I love the varying focal planes, they work so well here and add to much mood to the photo. Amazing processing.

she sounds tired, and for me, the change in focus reflects this

intersting shot...are you working for Les now?? (her dresses?? hehehe)

The poem should be called "Ballad of the Whiner" :P j/k
What a great diptych. The overlays and varying focal planes work well and suit the poem. Excellent job, ~

I feel tired looking at this like there's so much left to do and I just don't have the energy. Seems you found a poem to match my feelings. :>) Great diptych.

Even as I was opening this from the thumb, I thought "Maya Angelou". And lo, you have a poem by her to go with this amazingly clever image. Very cool.

Lovely verse and so true! The image took me a minute to figure out, probably because I haven't used an iron in years, lol.
