James, you asked in the forums for reactions to this shot. I like the depth of field, and there is good sharpness. However, your attractive model looks as if the sun is hurting her eyes. In terms of meeting the challenge, my high votes went to those shots that you called "food porn" -- because I felt those came closest to meeting the theme. In this, the food is clearly not the subject. |

I like the composition. Would be better is the light wasn't causing her to squint. |

Not voting just commenting. Nice concept, would come off better with softer lighting and a wider crop. |

She is pretty but the full sun is making her squint and casting harsh shadows. Shade might have been better. |

Your model appears to be squinting into the sun rather than rejecting the apple. |

It's too bad your subject is squinting - I can't tell if she's angry, or if the sun is in her eyes. I think, though, that it is sharp, and you have a nice level of saturation. |

"The photo should be good enough to appear in a health food magazine."
Thisi seems to be more an anti-health-food statement. |

not sure why this would appear in a magazine, but the model seems caught off guard, and the sun is glaring right in her face. |
