| i think this is quite funny! i would recommend a shallow depth of field on the soldier to make him stand out more though. good choice (imo) with b&w tones though. i think a little different vantage point would have made the comp more interesting too. good luck! |

| cool -- I was actually expecting to see lots of lame "game piece" ideas but yours actually delivers a clever conceptual pun, a soldier as a pawn. The shot is a little flat and the DOF is sort of 'neither here nor there'. It shows some blurring at the very front, but not enough to look intentional. |

| Brilliant! For me this is by far the best of the chess photos that have appeared in the challenge, mainly because the soldier just helps create the feeling of a battle grounds. Even though he's the one out of place, he makes you think the other pieces are all ready to fight as well :-) Well done! |

I think this would be a really awesome picture with higher contrast, as well as less grain. Maybe better composition too. But I really like the idea. 6. |
