Color balance and lighting could be fixed but what is it that is out of place? It just looks like a piece of contemporary sculpture.

Not sure what your point is here. Is it that you feel this memorial is out of place or not suitable to the tragedy? The picture itself is more like a snapshot than an artful photograph. Sorry.

seems overexposed. At least you have to increase to colorsaturation for this image to be good. Would also recomend that you use swallover DOF to make the background more blurred.
