Very nice photo, THe light needs to be improved only slightly to rid the can of that small hot spot but other than that this is an excelletn photo!!

Thanks for all the comments. I will say, I was inspired by Swish! by alansfreed. Since I didn't have time to enter the technique used in the Photogs Comments before the challenge, here it is.
Dark room with a black backdrop and one light shining from the left side. I tied black thread to the tab of the can so I could raise and lower it. I set the shutter to one seconded and used rear curtain flash. With the camera on a tripod, I tripped the self-timer and ran over and lifted the can into the air and tried to steady it. The shutter opened, I quickly lowered the can down, the the flash fired to get the nice sharp capture of the can. I cropped out the top that had my hand, and also the bottom where you could see the table. Then there was the black line going up the blur, where the string was, so I cloned that out and adjusted the levels & contrast and I was done.
I would have liked to have cleaned the image up a bit more, but I didn't have enough time, as I only had about 15-20 minutes to edit and upload this. |

Very nice. Nice color blur and lighting. Everything is sharp where it should be and the lighting is pretty clean. 1 tiny flash mark other catches my eye a bit but over all still looks like a top 3 to me. Great job 8 |

How was this done? Is it moving the camera, or really a falling can. If it is a falling can, how did you get the can in sharp focus, but with a blur. Slow shutter with flash? |

Reminiscent of Swish by alansfreed, the winner of the Garbage challenge. Well executed. Good luck. |

Great idea, shame the flash doesn't flatter the Coke can too well. The colours are a bit dull, and the flash has bounced off the can. The image is a bit noisy... did you try NeatImage? I'd have been tempted to centre the motion trail in the frame rather than the can. At the moment, it looks off-centre to me. Well done getting a uniformly black background. |
