 Before we left, my mom said, oh, the drive will be so pretty!

And I said, no, not really. You drive through the bleakest of desert all the way to San Diego - except for those crazy rock mountains towards the end.

This was at the gas station in MONW, but it looked like this most of the way.

Mother would periodically yell: Bleak! Bleak! :o)
