little bird stood
in the light of the moon
singing his sad
mockingbird tune

This baby mockingbird was on a branch right above the car windshield when I took a friend home, so I shot it through the glass. Everything is "legit" except the moon. TEE HEE - did a layer and a duotone.

Even through a car window your shots are amazing. I like the dof.

Incredible shot, Judy, even without the moon: and, then, the Moon!

Judy - Awesome image. I love how fitting the moon seems to be in the image - good stuff. Without the moon, the image would be missing something - the negative space would just be too large a hole

p.s. I really wanted to make sure you were the recipient of my 6000th comment - since the first comment you ever gave me made me want to give helpful and useful comments. Thanks again!

Love the bird - great shot through a windshield! Don't mind the moon but probably want to see it moved just a tad to the left. Or not. Really a well put together shot.

I like the composition very much and that little bird stands so tall and I can almost here him whistle.

Remember this one???

When the sun in the morning
Peeps over the hill,
And kisses the roses 'round my windowsill
Then my heart fills with gladness
When I hear the trill
Of the birds in the treetops on Mockin' Bird Hill

Tra-la-la, twiddly-dee-dee
It gives me a thrill
To wake up in the morning to the mockingbird's trill
Tra-la-la, twiddly-dee-dee
There's peace and goodwill
You're welcome as the flowers on Mockin' Bird Hill

When it's late in the evening,
I climb up the hill
And survey all my kingdom while everything's still
Only me and the sky -- and an old whippoorwill
Singin' songs in the twilight on Mockin' Bird Hill

Neat picture, too. I love to add a moon here and there. 8)
