Found some clovers that had become barely submerged in the Trinity river by recent rains. I think the air bubbles clinging to the leaves gives it a great touch, but I also think many people will believe they are water drops.

Pre-challenge notes:
Hoping for a 6 out of this, but I expect to be outdone by a lot of great drop shots and splash shots. I may also get some DNMC votes from folks who don't feel it is close enough to the subject theme. I'm going to let it stand on it's own merits and see.

Post- challenge notes:
Boy, was I wrong on this one! My suspicion is that many voters perceived this as a blurry shot, and did not realize it was underwater, and those were air bubbles rather than odd water drops. Oh, well. I still like it.

I also gave it a 5. Its an average shot that made me think of handfull of weeds sunk into a dirty aquarium. The air bubbles are pretty neat. But the focus is off on the clover leaves and the water is grungy. Its a found shot, at a rivers edge, but it didn't tell that story to me. The image should tell a story without an explanation. I'm not saying the idea is a bad one, but it needs a little work to make it.

When I initially saw the picture I was hovering around the 4/5 mark but upped that to 6 as I liked the concept and it's originality.

I agree with other comments that there it lacks clarity to give it a higher score (IMHO) The yellow bit at the bottom is a little distracting, maybe some burning would bring that down or maybe a tighter crop cutting out most of the yellow thing and the very top leaf ... that would also remove the most oof parts.

The bits floating in the water don't help either, though nothing you can do about that!

I was one of the ones who gave this photo a not-so-good score.

The composition is all over the place. The whole photo is out of focus. Visually it's not very compelling since the eye has no place to land.

A closer crop might have helped. I like the air bubbles and the concept. I just think it's technically challenged, which probably explains the score.
