This is the cannon that sits majestically in front of the castle in the middle of Ferrara. The girl looking so carefree on the front is Fi (a fellow English student) - who is in fact really quite scared of heights and therefore not enjoying herself - and her sister.

2 things can be learned from this cannon; firstly that Ferrara at some point has use for an enormous cannon and secondly that huge cannons on stilts are incredibly dangerous when drunk. This cannon has probably caused more injury by people climbing on it when in a less than lucid state than by its original purpose.
