This is a white pine struggling to grow on top of a rocky, craggy ridge; it was lightly raining and cloudy... included the tree on left and a few branches on right because they were there and also formed a frame for the image; only had my little Fuji point and shoot camera on this walk so it's a 4mp image and a little grainy...cropped, levels, curves, shadow/highlight,brightness/contrast, hue/sat, black and white conversion with sepia tint, usm

Awesom framing with that tree. Looks like torn paper. Definite points for that. That branch on the right (though some may disagree) actually adds to that ripped paper feel I get. This is one of the most intersting yet simpliest compositions I've seen yet in the category. VERY nice work.
