I had the opportunity to go for a short walk at lunch in the woods where I run when it's warmer out. It was cold, damp, and dreary. I came across several of these "pods" that appear to be attached to the leaves and not part of the plant, but I'm not really sure.

It was fairly boring so I applied Nik Efex IR filter, then Filter Forge Bad Trip filter.

You really made the forlorn feel so much more apparent by converting this piece to B&W. I love nature shots, and this is a great one.

It seems forlorn which was increased nicely by your processing, I think. I like the swirly effect you acheived in the background bokeh.

Your processing made it very dramatic (though I like the original as well). It really brought out the textures and sharpened the leaf a lot. I like the twisty stem you added, too. Neat find!

Wow, I thought the original was nice but you have totally improved it here. I love it. Seems like there is more detail.

Really love the processing. Minimal and simplistic, and very emotive.

This has a TOTALLY different feel than the original. I really like them both for different reasons. I love the softness and the rich tones of the original. But this is so striking and dramatic. Amazing what you can do with processing to completely change the type of art you end up with.

Moody and sad. I like the bokeh. I'm such a sucker for narrow DOF
