 3 shots 2 stops apart and Photomatix - the weird thing is that this was the most unpromising evening for photography ever - flat bland light, hardly any interest in the sky - maybe Photomatix likes these slightly dull days best.

I burned the clouds black from grey, and yes the yellow is annoying, I hadn't seeen it.

From the thumbnail I thought this was a water shot. I like how the tonemapping came out on the sky, and the burning you did to achieve it. The road creates a nice leading line to the horizon.

I suppose I'm going to sound a bit repetitive now, as I just asked MAK the same question, but did you shoot this knowing that this is how you wanted the final shot to be after processing? Or did it just end up like that after a bit of experimentation? Doesn't much matter, I'm just curious, either way, I believe this is really very good.

If this was one of your 'unpromising' evenings, I'd sure like to see one of the good ones! Incredible drama in the sky and I love the light reflection on the foreground road surface. Wonderful shot.

I love the processing...photomatix is a neat little tool and it really adds punch to what might have been an otherwise "dull" image. Great leading line with the road. Great job! :)

Very good job processing the image. I like the vibrant color and the curve of the road. The jet contrail is a bit of a distraction (for me at least.)

Great location for a shot, excellent sky to support. Small nit - there's a bit of bright yellow on the left near the ground that just looks a bit awkward, like the result of oversaturation or something.

Gee wizz, it almost looks like two pictures in one, with the top half, a lovely skyscape, and the bottom half, a country landscape.
