 It's maple syrup time in New Hampshire which occurs at the same time as the 5th New England season known as Mud Season. This is when it's not quite spring but winter is finally departing.

I've watched this line of maple trees through the seasons and have been waiting for the right time to capture them. On this day the light and fog were awesome so I had to revisit this spot. I was a bonus that you can see that the trees were tapped for collecting maple sap with the traditional sap buckets. For those who may not be familiar, the sap is collected then boiled-down to make maple syrup.

This was unexpected. I was hoping for a top ten but never expected the blue. Thanks for your votes and comments!

I really like the way the closest trees are black silhouettes, while the ones going off into the distance are color-shifting. The whole composition is exceptional.

What a perfect capture for this challenge! Is this a road you travel frequently...maybe noticed this scene develop before? Just curious. I drive 120 miles a day to/from work and have a few "spots" I keep an eye on. :-)
