I really like the way the HDR balances the light of the candle in this. You did a great job with the HDR - when I try it with Photomatix, I get tons of color noise. I'd love to know how you did this! |

I really like what you've done here and the B&W conversion is fantastic. There's a story to be told here and this makes me want to learn what it is. What's holding me back from giving a higher score is the arrangement of items, somehow it looks as if they were placed there for the picture, as opposed to the photographer capturing the scene as it unfolded. 6 |

Ok, it is some 27 years since I read this, and in all honesty would have to re-read it to get the relevance of the props. A such, I shall have to score the photo as a traight still-life - and it is good! The mono-conversion is sound, with a full range of tones from black through to true white, and the elements fit together well. The alarm clock is the only element that I have some doubt about - especially as it (at least in this form) post-dates Hardy! |

You know, I take shots similar to this, and never post them up. I fear people will blast it for being too cluttered, but I love these shots. Books, drinks, lighting, and a very understandable title! |

The lighting in this shot is just brilliant! I would like to know how you acheived such soft lighting and still exposed everything so dramatically. Nice wonderful shot. |

Nice, but there are too many themes here. The subject is...? |
