 I'm still being impressed by what my SLR can do at high ISO that my compact could not do without lots of detail obscuring noise .

Pre-challenge notes:
With this shot, I think I managed to capture the kind of clarity and detail that I have been admiring in many other images on this site. It's a fairly ordinary subject, however, so that may hold it down a little. We'll see....

Post-challenge notes:
Performed as expected, but not as hoped. The comments lead me to believe that I really did nail a great shot of this critter. I think the score was held back by two things:
1) Some folks not seeing how this fit the subject of "warm colors". Orange and brown are warm colors. I think some were looking for more of a conveyance of warmth.

2) The other thing was probably just that a squirrel is a fairly common and uninteresting subject.

This woudl have probably scored a good amount higher if the subject had been wildlife.

this is an amazing capture, how did you manage to get so close to your subject. Maybe just a tad bit more saturation to bring out those warm tones of the brown would be in order, but you have certainly got a good contender here for a high score. The catch light in his eyes is wonderful, showing hte trees and not yourself, the anticipation of his little hands coming up to his mouth and wondering if there is something yummy in his little hands is priceless. Wonderful capture, I am jealous! Well Done
