 I belong to a meetup cooking group. We met on Saturday for "dinner and a movie".

The movie was Big Night, and we cooked dishes that were featured in the film.

A big thing is the Timpano - it's a layered pasta dish in a dough shell. Ours did not turn out that well, but it was fun making it. Here you see one of the Timpano creators filling the dough with pasta and sauce.

Other layers include cubed salami, cheese, and hard boiled eggs.

So far this is the most photographically interesting shot in this side challenge. So many layers to look at.

Interesting story the photo tells without the written words. The reflection is as much a part of the story as the person holding the bowl. I'm so glad its not the camera reflected there.
I notice a red fringe running along the shadow, at the top of the hands. Maybe the reds are saturated to much. I'm not exactly sure how to address it. Maybe someone else can offer a suggestion.

A meetup cooking group is a great idea - if I wasn't so far away I'd ask if Sara and I could join ;-)

Great to hear the story behind. I'm really looking forward to this challenge (although I know I can't post everyday). Hopefully will end up with some new and interesting recipes!
