Everyone thanks for the comments. I should have had the flowers a little better in focus and I might have done better. I really enjoy the comments and like to see how different people think. |

I think this would be stronger with the flowers in teh bottom left more in focus. Very shalow depth of field |

NIce colors and contrast. I'd like a deeper DOF so more of the flowers are in focus. |

The focus is either off or you were intentionally focussing on the leaf. The flash on this shot doesn't work well either IMO. A longer exposure would have been better. In fairness to camera's where you can't adjust those settings try using the "night" mode (moon shaped icon). Also if you don't have a tripod, use some place where you can put your camera while its taking the shot. (window ledge, railings etc.). And to fix the focussing here, center the camera where you'd like the focus to be (in this case, the flowers) by half-pressing the shutter.. while your finger is on the shutter, recompose the shot and press fully. Try it and let me know if that helps. Good luck. 4 |

You need a little more depth of field. It feels odd to look at a picture that has unfocused things infront of the main subject. If you had focused on the front buds, or captured all of them in focus this would be a much straonger picture. What you do have in focus is very nice, there's just too little of it. |

The composition seems awkward to me, but good effort. |

This image had great possibilities -- but the very short DOF and harsh flash didn't serve well. I would have opted not to use the macro. Since this is digital, shoot LOTS of pix, trying different solution!!!! |
