 We took a trip to the southern part of the peninsula this weekend. It is a beautfiul part of Korea, but I was not blessed with good skies at is was mostly cloudy and windy all weekend. We took a ferry to an island that has a large botanical garden on it and I discovered how much I really enjoy macro photography, especially of flowers. I like the slow pace of it. I have been telling my wife that I do not like being rushed when taking photos because then I am just taking the photo for the sake of taking it. I prefer instead to slow down, enjoy the scene that I a viewing and try my best to capture that scene. Taking photos of flowers like this suite that philosohy so I discovered how much I will enjoy it. At the same time the lens it phenominal and when used with the 40D it really shines. The live view on it is so useful for macro photography.

I love the colors, and detail, and the DOF completes this fine image.....
