Two brown hares - the male is to the right, and had been standing guard over the female who had been lying low in her form. There were six hares in this field, and I spent a good three hours commando crawling closer and closer.

Ha, ha! A different take on "going commando". :) Wonderfully clear and sharp, really great shot.

Nice shot! The times I've tried to shoot hares all I end up with is an empty frame.

Underrated IMO. Very nice shot. Of course top 51 in a Free Study is always a smashing success but I think this should have placed higher.

The depth on this is really nice, it really brings out the subtle action of the two hares. Cool stuff.

The hares are wonderful, and nicely isolated from their surrounding. I think I would like the image better if some of the foreground blur was cropped away. But that is just my personal reaction to most foreground blur. Congratulations on a really high placement in the very large field of entries.

Looks like I owe you 10 comments for winning our Free Study side challenge. Your DOF here is perfect, and I really like the 3 bands of color further framing the rabbits. The solid blur in the extreme forground it a bit distracting; for whatever reason I like background bokeh more than foreground bokeh.

That's the wrong end for bunny spring activities.

Love this shot. The rabbits' fur and eyes are amazingly clear.
