Well... of course it was not an illegal filter (will this never stop ;-)) and the overexposure was intentional of course, too. I even made it brighter in postprocessing :-) Maybe I make another version where I leave the brightness just as it is. I'm not sure if this is a monitor calibration thing again, because when I looked at the photo on a TFT display with not so much contrast it was really ugly.
And yes, this is a self portrait. That was the really tricky part. Try it and you'll see that photographing your own eye is not easy. At least it wasn't for me. The light is afternoon sunlight btw.
I understand that some poeple think it's a bit weak at meeting the challenge because the reflection is not the "main thing" of the photo. I almost guessed that in advance but I submitted it anyway. I like the lighting and the overall look of it very much. To me it has a lot of emotion.
The comments were mostly very pleasing and I enjoyed them a lot. I think I'll just ignore the score ;-)

The reflection isn't very strong here but I want you to know that I think this is a fine piece of art. I like it very much. Grayce |

I like the composition and the faded colour choice - though there is just a little too much white for my tastes. I am confused by the reflection. Kavey |

While this is interesting, the overblown thing doesn't do much for me. 7 Swash |

IMHO, although there is a reflection on the iris, it's so vague, that it looks more like a defect, than the theme of the image. The contrasted result of the color management makes for a photo that seems to be unfinished and raw, more than attractive or captivating. |

Nice idea with the washed out colors of the face. Unfortnately the reflection is very hard to make out. You are on the right track here... 8 |

Wow...this is really bright and washed out. I think there is a reflection in the eye, but everything is so bright that I think it loses a lot of detail and I can't even tell what it is. The eye its self is really good. The angle and the placement within the photo are really nice. I like the cropping/framing as well. Just a little too bright for my tastes. Good luck in the challenge. ~Hbunch7187~ |

The blown out look actually makes my eyes hurt a little. (I know it's just a psychosomatic issue, but whatcha gonna do?) Original. |

Nice shot! I really like the high key impression in this picture. Only the colors look a little like illness (particularly that yellow). Did you tried out a b&w version? And by the way: what kind of vision you had in this moment? Voted 8 - good luck for the challenge... |

OK, it looks like an illegal filter, however, I shall assume otherwise because it's still here. This is quite superb all said and done, and regardless of how it was achieved, it's still a first class artistic shot. There is a lot of emotion and even though the reflection in the eye itself is undefined, this shot still works ΓΆ€“ and very well. Good shooting (10) |

VERY overexposed. The reflection in the eye barely saves this photo. |
