 Man – I have been thinking about this all week. Trying to come up with a story that worked for this image. I had a lot of fun with the story behind the first Tooth Fairy image, but this one I am struggling with. How about I throw this out to anyone who has any interest in writing a story line to this image. I am looking for the details as to what happened to The Real Tooth Fairy that would have him get a black eye and arrested. The only thing (and this is a hard thing) is that he can not come in contact with an adult human. He can be around adults, but adults can’t see him. The only ones who can see him are other fairy tale type characters and the occasional child. If you write and PM me a version of a story that works I will go ahead and place it in the details of this image so that it can be read forever and ever – and you will of course get full credit for it as well. I am just struggling right now to write something interesting.

The Continuing Saga of The Real Tooth Fairy

This shot was actually Aimees idea. I was considering taking a pic of Aidan with chocolate around his mouth like he had been stealing doughnuts or something. But when she said “Tooth Fairy” I was like “duhhhh!!!!”

Aimee gave me the black eye and helped me with the tattoo again. The belly was all me. Shot in our office room I had the 420ex bounced off a silver umbrella camera left and the 580exII on camera as the master and fill using the bounce card and ceiling. Camera on tripod I had Aimee hit the plunger for each of my poses. Some shocked, some angry, some non chalant, some very very happy. This was by far the best of the bunch.

Editing went on for a couple of days. The main edit was immediately after shooting and lasted about an hour. Pimping and tweaking went on a lot after that. I may post the original later on. As for the steps there was a lot of dodging, burning, spot blurring, color adjustments, some cloning and healing and other stuff. But nothing crazy. All pretty straightforward techniques.

I was at 7.45 or so at 75 votes, and then the dive began. The lowest I saw was a 7.11 and right now (as of 3pmon Sunday) I am back up to 7.23. Not sure if that will ribbon though. Could be some big scores out there. Though SJCarter’s image I hear is just making its way back up to 7 and I thought his was one of the better entries. Fingers crossed that there will be three Too images on the front page at rollover.

Also, on April 1st the original Tooth Fairy shot can be seen at Kodak.com as their picture of the day as well as on their jumbotron thing in NYC. How scary is that?

lol out of all the self portraits you have done. This is the new King. Too bad the tatoo isn't on your other arm so more of it would be showing. I sure hope you keep your blinds closed when you do these shoots, or your neighbors will look at you funny in the morning when you are out to get your news paper.

I swear those wings get prettier and prettier every time I see them. This is great! It made me laugh out loud. Great pose and props and nice touch with the bruised and slightly swollen eye.

Too funny! LOL. The classic mug shot look alright. Would be really authentic if you had those height markings in the background. Fun to seee the Tooth Fairy again. A series of these would be too funny. Always fun to see you and Aimee duke it out in the challenges. I'm rooting for both of your shots to make the top10. Maybe make the front page even. Good luck!
