Uh-oh. Who died? You did such a great job of conveying the mood and somber spirit present in that room. The dark sense of loss washes over you when you look at it.

The lighting really adds to the mood of the parlor. It seems like a "from darkness into light" theme. Nicey done. |

Very good. Makes you look for a while. The person on the far right really takes the cake. Excellent composition. |

I see a man, then a boy. Then the other two adults off to the side, watching but not interfering, and I wonder about the conversation between the first two. Then I read the description. There was a somber tone to this before that; now it makes sense. A very strong image to me. |

I knew this was a funeral parlor before I read the comment. You were right on with the lighting to give it that sad/lonely feel. Great job! |

I didn't expect to see a funeral parlor in this challenge but then again we often don't expect such things. I like that light coming in through the window and the people in the shadows. There's a story here to be told. Nice work. |

I'm struck by each individual's silent introspection, particularly the woman on the far right. The crop very effectively emphasizes a sense of loss, as if perhaps she is feeling only half present at that moment. |

I think I especially like this for it being the day that Arthur C Clarke died; there is something science fiction about it: those glasses on the image right character, perhaps. The strong sense of ceremony, the almost invisible child. Either a sinister or a futurist induction. |

The silhouettes and the angle convey the mood of a funeral parlor. Just missing a coffin. But, this image is great for B&W - the distortion is obvious without being overdone and there is a starkness here. Well done. |
