Challenge: Fences II (Basic Editing)
Camera: Nikon D80

The picture was taken to do "something different" with a fence. It was intended to look like a middle eastern girl in a village. Taken at midday in partly sunny conditions across a school fence. Would love to have critique on the quality of black and white, contrast and the expression.

Nice composition, the tonality seems weak (imho).

The fence definitely adds to the mood of this shot. I also like the b&w. Maybe pushing the contrast up a bit would add an even greater feel to the shot.

I'm not sure why but I really like this...Must be her expression. She looks like she has a story to tell and is just waiting for someone to listen.

I think a bit less fence above her head, and a bit more contrast to being out those eyes, and you may have had a ribbon shot!
Well done.

Great composition. Makes me want to know why she's on the other side. The B&W is a terrific choice IMO.
