 I like mystery item pictures, so here's one. I'll post the answer with my next photo.

JMart finally guessed this one... it's an open stapler. I was holding it on my lap (hence the blue jeans in the background). And let me just say... it hurts when these things snap shut on your fingers unexpectedly!

The border is a series of stroke and canvas size adjustments, and then a layer style adjustment using inner glow, bevel and emboss, and inner bevel (I think anyway).

Cool shot, love the comp and lighting.

Now I need to know, how do you make those borders? I know how to make simple borders but the inside shadow I can't or haven't found a way yet. Please tell.

A spring from an ink pen? A spiral from a notebook? I'm thinking it's the spiral , but could be either. Nice work.
