Great shot and congrats on the top 12 finish. Keep up the great work, still don't know why you had to validate this, but great result anyway. |

I like how he's focussed on what he's doing to show that he's a dedicated scientist |

The clean, sterile processing goes well with the subject. Nice job! An eight for you. |

At first the distortion is a bit disconcerting but it really does lend itself well to this portrait - the science is the thing, or at least it is presented that way. Two things that would make this a better portrait - just a bit deeper DOF and cloning out the labels on the machine (which I fully understand isn't allowed under the rules of the challenge.) Very good work. |

Face focus a bit too soft. |

wish there was more going on in the bg here, but the microscope and test tubes all add to authenticity. 7 |

This is a nice shot of a scientist in his element. The foreground is not cluttered and the black and white conversion is well done. The blown out background works to simplify the image. I think he could use just a bit more light on the right side of his face, but that is probably something you could do after the challenge with a selection tool (if you feel its even necessary)...6 |

Great perspective. I like it as a b/w but I think I would like it better in color. Nice job! |

One of the best examples of a subject in their environment so far, i just wish that the DOF was a bit wider, his face, the key element in any portrait lacks the sharpness of his hands and the rack of tubes. |

Nice composition and camera angle. Although the combination of props does not make toommuch sense to me, they create a compelling image. Well done. |

This is one of my faves on this challenge. IMO B/W works really well with your subject. I've got the feel that this was a setup, but it really doesn't matter to me because it also feels an authentic representation.
The serious expression on his face is priceless :)
Congrats and good luck! |

Thank you for showing your subject in his environment. Doing what scientists do. The angle of the shot seems to be elongating the microscope and test tubes while diminishing the person. Just an observation. |

Definitely meets the challenge criteria, but seems a bit "studio", some natural business in the background would have helped this shot. |

Great composition, but it appears that this scientist's face is outside the depth-of-field. :-( |
