Stop the War in Iraq Peace Rally in NYC on Saturday, 20th march 2004. Had lots of fun at the rally. Whether you agree with the issues or not, you just got to LOVE that people can get together & collectively express their opinions. For more pictures from the rally, visit here

Thanks guys!
I really wanted to use a different shot that was less political but this was the best shot out of the bunch so I used it. I knew that I would get a mess of one's for it & I was willing to take the heat. I'm surprised I got only one negative comment. I was certainly expecting more. More one's too but I guess people were kind!

Anyway, I've been getting reamed for the shots from the rally, especially on my pbase account but I don't care. I loved the shots I took, had fun doing it & I don't care if some don't like it. I feel okay with that!

Cheers everyone!

Should have done better and probably would have if it wasn't so politically charged. Only one of the desenters had the gonads to tell you though. Peace!!

edit* Those rally shots are great, especially "The only Bush I trust..." //www.pbase.com/rooster/peace_rally&page=all

I think this should have ended up higher. I sure don't agree with the protest sign at all. I still think the photo is excellent.

A powerful image well framed and composed. Certain photojournalistic merit. Well done 10

Nice shot. The only significant problem I have with it is that one person isn't much of a rally- and even that person doesn't seem to be particularly motivated. The crop just emphasizes how alone she is on this deserted street. Maybe a tighter crop with the model holding the sign up, shouting, etc.?

This is a terrific shot. The location and background have great lines but are not distracting. Her stance and expression are serious and match well with the subject. Lighting and focus are perfect. This will be a ribbon winner I predict!

Very nice picture, the distortion caused by the wide angle lens works dramatically here. Impressive sharpness. Great camera angle. Exposed well. Interesting subject. I don't like the border, but I won't allow that to influence my voting here.

Not even Time would put this CRAP on it's magazine cover. No "Socialist Worker" orgainizations in America. Enjoy your 1 from me.

Excellent use of pov and B&W - one of my picks for a ribbon.

This one is really good! The protest is strengthened through the strict composition, and the womans expression

Top marks for your very journalistic take on the challenge. Great picture, great subject. More negative space at the top for the Time logo needed. I fear you are going to take a beating from the pro-Bush people among us though. Too bad it has to be so political.

Beautiful shot but a bit too soft on the focus.
