I love the soft tans of this photo. However, your little sailor's face loses in competition with the sunset. I'm not sure what lighting tools you have available, but some light reflected up at his face would brighten those rosy cheeks and make him the dominate subject. Outside of this challenge a quick dodging of his face in Photoshop gives the same effect.

Lovely photo, none-the-less.

First off, his face is just too precious! I love it! The soft coloring is fantastic. 10

Great scene! I think I would like it a little better with a little fill flash on the boy to brighten him up a bit.

unusual shot, I like the pensive look on boy's face, his placement on the shore and the sweater/cap. 8

I like this. There is a hint of yesteryear here, how would this look in sepia or b&w?

Cute kid dressed up at the beach during sunset. Composition wise, I would have liked to see less sand or dirt and more water and sky. Perhaps moving the kid back towards the edge (depending how high up you were) would help that. Also, you have the sun and the child on the left and nothing on the right. I would have preferred to have the child on the right side so that there is less empty space. Finally, the child has no lighting on him. A pop up flash for fill probably would have benefitted this, but a real flash, possibly an umbrella as well could have made this a more dramatic shot...4

Better lighting on the subject would help this shot out. Cute kid and cute expression on this face, but the overall image is a bit muddled.

Like the sunset but should have zoomed in on the child a bit more. Just a little less background.

I love the concept but the image leaves me wanting. The subject is just too dark compared to the environment. A fill flash would have done wonders.
