Very happy with that (of course) :)

Started at 7 and then just seemed to climb all week :) Personal best by a mile and my first ribbon a blue! Thanks.

AS for the aperture etc, sorry, i'm in london at the moment but if you check back in about 12 hours i'll be back home (where i can also submit confirmation) and put up the details - the submission was a bit rushed as i remember it, but basically the shot is over exposed and i burnt her back in along with the posts. The shot itself was luck - i was out on a walk with my dad and we stopped off in a cafe as it started to rain - i changed lenses and it then started to really go for it... this is one of three shots of separate people i took then and i was lucky to get it i think. Right place, right time i think.

Thanks for the comments - as for "more contrast" i know what you mean, but the way i saw it was any more contrast would push the background too dark and thus the woman wouldnt stand out as much. And the "mist" is not processing, it is what actually happens when you get torrential rain hitting concrete...

Anyway - great start to the day for me! Thanks :)

Very nice - I just wish it had just a touch more contrast, or heavier blacks. You've really captured the torrential rain and that poor woman caught in it without a brolly....definitely a harsh environment with nice composition, but just let down but the tonal contrast I think.

Oh my goodness, this is an outrageously good image for the challenge. Fantastic composition and great clarity given the weather conditions. This is an image that you dont just look at...you feel!

I love the B&W conversion
