Tribute to Pawdrix's Skyline shot.

I work at Times Square and am always amazed at the amount of light pollution. You can't see the stars and after a while you do miss them. For those of you that have never visited New York City, you can see Times Square on the left side of the skyline, or rather, you can see the light from it in amongst the buildings. So much, in fact, that the clouds are lit up from below.

Edits: RAW conversion, Curves, Resize, Sharpen, Save for Web.

I like this picture and am hoping that people don't mark me down for including too much sky. I did it on purpose to show more of the light pollution. I also blew out the whites to evoke more of a feeling of unnecessary light, but I am guessing in advance that I'll get several comments on that too. I would have edited out the uneven lines of water across the front of the image if not for the Basic rules.

Almost too beautiful to be considered pollution. If none of it were there, it would be a pretty boring (not to mention dark) photo :)

I don't like the light pollution idea. It doesn't seem that it is in keeping with the spirit of the challenge. Beautiful shot though. Upon further review I am bumping this one up a point as it at least shows the light pollutes the sky.

Really nice shot, I would suggest cropping out a little bit of the blue part of the sky, (just where the clouds end) Otherwise great colors composition, and horizontal lines. That yellow hue really says "pollution" to me so great photograph!

Good night shot. I think seeing more of the water and less of the sky would have been better. The light reflecting in the water seems more interesting than the sky.

excellent urban landscape. the cloud formation (radial shape emerging from behind the city) with long exposure movement adds an amazing touch to this shot. the only and very minor issue with this scape is the downtown gets cut-off haphazardly mid-way in the left side of the frame. 9

Nice pic but I'm not so sure about "light pollution" I think if I was in that nasty city I would want all the lights on. Good exposure and nice colors

Nice long exposure and idea for the challenge. I would have perhaps given a bit of color balance shift to the blue to help soften or cool the image,nice work.

Great use of long exposure.. Perhaps the only thing missing is a distinct focal point that makes this picture stand out from other similar pictures..

Nice cityscape. I also did a light pollution shot. I don't live in Jersey City though so I don't have such nice scenery.
