My mom and I went around the town for this challenge, my mom providing the rides. When it finally started to snow down here in Louisiana, I was lucky enough to be out taking photos of the paper mill, the smell of which is known to everyone for miles around. ( I'd be surprised if you Shreveport photographers didn't already know about Ouachita Parish just for that. :) )
Cropped twice, used a dodging tool all over, burning tool the same, sharpening filter applied, dodged again, sharpened again, colorified to black and white, softglow filter applied, JPEG quality reduced to 90-something percent. I used GIMP in editing my photo, an amazing and free little editing program. Something doesn't seem quite right about the crop, but I really can't tell what it is, aside from the fact that it's slightly tilted. Perhaps it's just a busy photo overall?

Yeah, I think I was just being stupid while editing. I love how the smoke turned out in the photo, so I really didn't want to crop out any of the smoke, whatsoever. Like I said, I was being stupid and stubborn. |

| I think you should have straightened the image to get rid of the tilt.. that's the first thing I noticed instead of the actual image.. The upper half is interesting.. the combination of the smoke and the wires are very appropriate for the challenge.. The lower half is just in the middle of being a silhouette and then not..not sure it looks that great.. I do like how the flag is instatntly recognisable |

| I like how the smoke is gathering together at the top of the picture, I also like how there is an american flag in this shot as well, nice capture. |

| too many people are taking pictures of smokestacks. i know you were trying to clearly see the flag in the shot to matcht he title, but i think it would have been nicer to see more of the factory. |
